A celebrant led baby naming ceremony offers a unique and personalised way to celebrate and welcome a new baby into the family and community.
I work closely with the parents to understand their vision. I then create and deliver a ceremony that reflects their wishes, ensuring that it is meaningful and tailored specifically to the family.
There is flexibility in terms of location, format and content. Baby naming ceremonies can be held in any venue or setting, whether it's indoors or outdoors.
The format of the ceremony can be adjusted to incorporate any specific rituals, readings or cultural elements that are important to the parents.
The appointment of Guardians is popular. Like Godparents, these may be close friends or family of the parents, who are chosen to play a role in the child's life.
Flexible and Meaningful
Various rituals can also be included, such as:
A commemorative candle being lit with the child's name and date of the ceremony inscribed on it.
(Candle ceremonies are dependant on venues and their fire regulations).
A rose petal blessing, where each person places a rose petal in a bowl of water whilst making a wish or blessing for the baby. A little of the water is then used to welcome the baby, by a gentle dab on the forehead.
Small, significant gifts from the new child's siblings as a token of their love and wish to share their life with their new brother or sister.
A tree being planted as a symbol of the long and happy life of the child.
I also provide a commemorative certificate to be signed by the parents and guardians which can be kept as a keepsake.
